SAP ambassador Gary Player celebrates his 60th anniversary as a professional golfer this year. Often cited as the most successful international golfer of all time, Player has won 165 tournaments worldwide over five decades and is regarded as one of the greatest players in golf history. Gary has had victories in 27 consecutive years, ten years more than the second best as well as being a winner of golf’s Grand Slam, one of only five golfers ever to do so, at the age of 29. In addition he is the only winner of the Grand Slam on both the Regular and Senior Tours.

Gary became the first non-American to win the Masters in 1961 and went on to win another two more times in 1974 and 1978. Having claimed the green jacket three times – the event is a particular favorite of Gary’s and he will once again be an honorary starter at this year’s Masters alongside fellow golfing legends Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus. Not content with dominating the golfing green, Gary founded the Gary Player Foundation which has raised and distributed countless millions of dollars to under-privileged children. Now celebrating its 30th anniversary, the foundation has expanded efforts in all corners of the globe, raising funds for impoverished children through four Gary Player Invitational events – in Europe, China, the USA and South Africa.  Over an astounding $50 million has been raised in the last 29 years! Congratulations Gary!

SAP is proud to support Gary Player on and off the golf course. The Gary Player Group uses SAP solutions to run more efficiently enabling his golf course designers, foundation, real estate ventures, merchandise portal and new business divisions to run like never before.
